Most disagreements between clients and agencies come down to two things: money and cancellations. Both are easy to avoid when the rules are clear before you book. This article explains how cancellation and payment usually work, why the terms exist, and what a fair agency should tell you in writing.

Why cancellation terms exist

When you book, a companion reserves time for you. She declines other requests, travels, prepares and keeps the evening free. If the booking is cancelled late, that time is lost and often cannot be filled again. Cancellation terms protect her time, and they protect you too, because they make clear what happens if plans change. A good agency treats cancellations fairly, with more flexibility for early notice than for late notice.

What a fair policy looks like

Clear notice periods, for example free changes well in advance and a part fee closer to the time.
A different rule for same-day cancellations and no-shows.
Terms written down and confirmed before you pay anything.
Reasonable understanding for real emergencies, at the agency’s discretion.

Changing a booking

If you only need to move the date or time, tell the agency as early as you can. A change is easier to accommodate than a cancellation, and many agencies allow it once without a fee when the notice is good. The companion’s availability decides whether the new time is possible.

Arriving late

Lateness happens, particularly with flights and traffic. Send a message as soon as you know. The time you booked usually starts at the agreed time, so a late arrival normally shortens the evening and does not move the end. If you are very late, the companion may be unable to wait. In that case the terms for a no-show can apply.

If your companion has to cancel

Sometimes it is the other way round. Illness or an emergency can force a cancellation. A serious agency tells you as early as possible and offers an alternative companion or a new date. You should never be charged for a cancellation made by the agency.

Payment: how it normally works

Payment is arranged with the agency, not with the companion on the evening. The agency confirms the amount, the method and the moment of payment in writing. Common arrangements include payment at the meeting, or a deposit for longer bookings and travel. A transparent agency tells you the total in advance, including travel and any extra time.

Safe ways to pay

Pay only after you have a written confirmation from the agency.
Be careful with requests for gift cards, cryptocurrency or transfers to private persons.
Business clients can ask for an invoice with a neutral description.
Keep your confirmation and your receipt.
Never send card PINs or online banking logins to anyone.

Extending the evening

If you enjoy the evening and want to stay longer, ask the companion or the agency. Extensions depend on availability, and the extra time is charged at the agreed rate. Agree on this before the first period ends, so that there is no confusion later.

International clients

Most problems are avoided by three habits: read the terms, ask early, and confirm in writing. If a problem still arises, stay calm and polite, and contact the agency directly. Fair agencies want to solve problems quickly and discreetly.
